As long as it reflects your everyday appearance, a beard or moustache is fine; you just need to be recognisable in the photo. Light, natural make-up is allowed, but avoid heavy make-up that alters your features, adds shine or creates shadows.
For babies the eyes should be open and looking at the camera, mouth closed with a neutral expression. No toys, dummies or other people (including a supporting hand) may appear in the frame. Very young babies can be laid on a plain white sheet and photographed from above.
Glasses have been banned in US visa and passport photos since 1 November 2016. In Schengen and the UK, prescription glasses may be allowed provided there is no glare on the lenses, the frames don’t cover the eyes and they are not tinted/sunglasses. To eliminate the risk entirely, we recommend removing glasses.
At Stüdyo AB shooting, editing and printing take about 5 minutes on average. Biometric and visa photos must usually have been taken within the last 6 months; if your appearance has changed significantly, a new photo is required.
